Overview

In the builder, L2 search (and in the future L1) can now be powered by external libraries:

• an Amp based library (an L0 project of type Design Library)
• a Workspace based library (a Design Library hosted on our cloud infrastructure)

(and this is in addition to the Design Libraries existing on the machine where the builder is running)

Setup

Before you can use an external amp or a workspace you will need to prep the environment (it’s a one time operation).

• First, download the following .remix: _rmx_search.remix . It is a collection of agents which needs to be deployed:

• for Amp: simply d&d the file at L0 and then set the access control to be ‘all users’

  • In the Tools & Settings plugin, select ‘View access’ (note that you won’t be able to open Tools & Settings at L1 for an imported app. Open it at L0, select View access and select Rmx Search in the project selector):

  

  • Select the Rmx Search project and give all signed in users access

• for a Workspace:

  • use the workspace setup tool at : https://remix.remixlabs.com/cloud_workspace/workspaces
  • create a new workspace if you haven’t already done so

  

  • Once the workspace is created, go to the ‘App hub’ for this workspace:

  

  • and install the ‘Federated Search’ app:

  

  • Your workspace is now ready to host federated search libraries.

Deploying a new library

Once the base setup is done, an amp or a workspace can be used to host federated search assets:

• Amp: any Design Library on the machine will be shown in the search results:

  • create a new one directly in the builder at L0, or upload one via d&d.

• Workspace:

  • export an existing design library from a builder instance (package it with the builder assets), and upload it to your workspace using the workspace setup tool at : https://remix.remixlabs.com/cloud_workspace/workspaces
  • Select ‘Deploy app’ for your workspace:

  

  • Upload your app library the workspace.
